Well I think im going to build this--Any woodworkers out there???
This is a guytronix Ardmore 8 watt class A tube amplifier kit. It costs 375.00. The sound quality is amazing based on clips from the website, and
reviews from HC.
It seems pretty simple, only standby switch, off-on switch, volume, and tone. I think even I could handle the simplicity of this wiring (this picture
is actually the Gilmore model, a 1/2 watt amplifier, but I am just trying to show the simplicity of the wiring:
You can buy a cabinet from them or build your own. On the website there are lots of neat builds, check some out:
If I do end up doing this, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in designing and building a cabinet for the head, i will buy a separate cab
unless someone has an idea for both?? I would of course pay for materials and labor. And you would be able to put your artistic touch to my amp. I
am not very good at woodworking
What do you all think??

Really? All boutique parts with a chassis? Ive been looking lately, and this is the best deal i have found. I think if you found this amp built
with the same parts by a name brand company like matchless, Dr. Z, TopHat, etc. you would pay double for the name alone
375 dollars is not expensive in the world of boutique amps. Sure, ill be wiring it myself, but I think it's a good deal. I wish someone with amp
building experience like TWANG or roadie joe would weigh in, or anyone else for that matter. Thanks for the input Mickey

Well, I scratch built my first guitar amp in 1959.
And I've built lots of stuff since (stereos, radio transmitters & receivers, TVs and even a couple of microwave ovens.)
So I don't have enough experience to comment, sorry.
Please email kurt@rondomusic.com and tell him you want to buy a LEFTY Douglas WNO 640 SBR!
There are NO LEFTY Douglas WNO 640 SBR's! at Rondo!

OK, then, from MY perspective, being the young little whippersnapper that I am, this is the best option I can find. I am not rich by any means, and
would love it if you could provide me with a list of parts and a schematic (actually, pics and a layout would be better since I can only halfass read
schematics) that would make this project cheaper for me. Seriously, help a brother out
I know it can be done:

although I found part 1 of the video, and it would be more accurately called, as a veiwer posted "Look at the cool amp I can make", instead of How to
make it. So, me, being the dipshit I am, am stuck and at the mercy of those who can design it or share it with me. So what i am saying is this:
I dont know how to make it so I guess I get ripped off.
i am very glad you made your first amp from scratch in 1959.
I dont know how to do it, so I guess I pay the person who knows how to pick the proper parts for me, provide a turret board, and provide easy
instructions for me to do it. and if i have to pay him for it so be it. I will make sure not to post it when it's done so as not to set myself up
for ridicule.
I wasnt judging your ability in the first place so I really don't understand your retort to my 2nd post. And I was being sincere when i thanked you
for your input. Sorry if it came across wrong

If you're looking for a "simple" how to, complete with parts list for the first timer.. check this out. The language is simplified so that you can
better understand how to read a schematic.. very informative on the subject from a guitarists point of view. 2/3 through the book is instructions on
how to build an amplifier, complete with parts list, pictures, layout, etc. Parts wise it is also in the $400 arena depending on extras and
incidentals (which includes speaker/s and cabinet construction).
As for building a cabinet, it's only as hard as you want to make it. You can build a basic box or you can make a dove-tailed art work. I'm building
a bass cabinet now, and it's been fairly easy work. One thing I didn't realize is how much more it would cost after incidentals and hardware. BUT
it's going to be worth it either way cause it's MINE.

I like the wood edge touch. You can go to any hardwood specialty store and get a small piece of hardwood of whatever species and sand and add the
clear of your choice. The only think I would do is add some U shaped steel rods to protect the trans and tubes.
