NGD, have a question-
Just got a new AL2000 TE yesterday but I have a question about it.
Is the neck supposed to look/sit in the pocket this way?

Hmmmm...... that does look odd. However I'm not sure how it should look.
I'm tempted to pull the PU out of my 2000 and see what it looks like.

Gibson makes a point of saying that their necks extend into the bridge pickup on the LP's for better tone and sustain. Looks like the Agiles do also.
Or do you mean the offset?

gibson doesn't have a long tenon. they used to way back when.
agiles 3k have a medium tenon.
the AL2k that you have seems to have a long tenon. impressive.
thats how its supposed to be. cant comment on the black paint though....

I was thinking the offset looked odd, I thought it would be centered?

Doesn't the black paint have something to do with electrical shielding?

Must be normal then. I glad too because I'm quite certain this is the best $225 guitar I ever bought.
Looks good too!

I believe so, though I'm not sure why they need it with humbuckers.

The tenon is offset like that on those. The cap does look lighter to me also.

Take a deep breath, I see no problems at all, in that picture.
The cap, on the guitar is certainly maple. The tenon is offset to make the cutaway possible.
The neck, on 2K's, are maple, thus the light color of the tenon.
THe dark paint uses iron oxide as a pigment, to make it conductive. It is them connected to ground, just like the metal cover on the top of the
pickup, so any external noise, from either side, is shunted to ground.
In my professional opinion, what you have there is an electric guitar.
A pretty f'in good one from the looks of it.
Don't worry. Play.

Thanks. I was only concerned about the offset. I had just never seen one like that before.

that cap does look a little lighter in color than the mahogany body, but it's AS porous as the back/body..... And the other half of the top looks
dark. I'm guessing it could be a lighter mahogany but certainly not dismissing that it could be maple.
That extended tenon is a GOOD thing. My older al-3km has a short/medium tenon (barely extends into the PU cavity).
The offset is similar to the neck on my al-3km as well. Very sweet guitar for the price....and in general.
From what little I can see of the guitar, it looks prettttyyyy sweet. HNGD!!!
