Agile 2k vs Shadow Pro

I might be coming up on some cash today (hopefully will be selling one of my guitars) I'm not in a big hurry to get another guitar as I will still have 3 others. But I have been looking at the Agile LP's. I have a Shadow Pro and the specs seem to be pretty similar to the Agile 2k's. Just curious if I would be able to tell much of a difference between the 2. I know the 2k's are the lower end Agile's, but I am on a tighter budget so I wouldn't be looking to spend much more than a 2k, but I don't want to spend the extra cash just for a different name on the headstock ya know? I really like the Shadow Pro, but I've always wanted a blue LP of some sort, but just don't know if it would be worth dishing out the extra cash if it's the same quality as the shadow pro but just different color and different name. If that makes sense. Any input?

How about saving up for one of these: http://www.rondomusic.com/al3100setribalblue.html

It'll give you a different sound, and since you already have a humbucker LP style, this would be interesting.

That's a super nice guitar, but I really don't think I could justify it to the wife to spend that much on one. I really do like the tribal blue though. I saw the tribal blue of the $225 one, but like I said, I don't know if I want to spend the extra money if it will essentially be the same guitar but just different color ya know?

The AL2K is going to give you much better fit and finish than the Douglas, as well as better hardware. I don't own one, so can't comment in more detail, but there are plenty of folks around here who do and I'm sure they will chime in soon.

I have a Shadow Pro and I have to say that the fit & finish is quite nice. It also has the Grover tuners that I believe are the same as the AL2K. Don't sell the Douglas short.:)

I agree that the fit and finish of my shadow pro is very nice, with the Grover tuners, set neck and mahogany body it's very nice. I think the only difference I could tell would be the AL2k is a solid mahogany body whereas the shadow pro has a maple top to it? Or am I mistaken. I'm curious about the pups too. The shadow pro has upgraded pups and I'm not sure if the AL2k would have higher quality pups or they might be the same. Thanks for the input guys! Any more input is welcome!

I have a shadow pro and even though I don't have a 2k I think the douglas is just as good.

Since you already have the Shadow Pro, I don't think the AL-2000 would be a revolutionary upgrade (even if it is slightly better).

If you are set on buying a new blue guitar, I'd suggest this one instead:
http://www.rondomusic.com/al2500blueflame.html

Only $15 more than an AL-2000, but this one would actually be a reasonable upgrade on your current guitar.

If you're happy with the Douglas, I'd suggest hanging tight and saving up for an AL-3k.

The 2000 is a nice guitar, but like the guys have said... I don't think it's going to be a night and day upgrade from the guitar you have. I'd store the money you have and wait and get the 2500 or a 3x00.

Thanks guys! I didn't think it was going to be a very noticeable difference, so I might just save the extra $$ and look at either the 2500 or 3x00 or maybe something different. Who knows. Thanks for the input!
