I paid for both, but I have to return one for a refund. The neck should be the same but one feels a bit thicker to me. Its a tough call - I have a
gig coming up so I played through the set list in my basement tonight using the honey for 1/2 the songs and the tobacco for the other 1/2 and let me
tell you, my back DEFINITELY felt the difference. Even 1-2lbs difference can be a big deal, especially with a herniated disc.

Tough one? I like the lighter weight but chunky necks. Thats why I love my Gibson LP faded, chambered with a big '59 neck. Good luck

Even given the weight I'd keep the honey. I like the inlays a lot better. You can always swap pickups later. The 3100 has better wire too.
On the other hand, I have trouble with heavy guitars too. In the grand scheme of things, they're essentially the same specs and they're both
pretty.
But take a good look at those inlays.
If you choose tabakky I'm sure going to be watching out for the HB on B Stock!

So many les pauls (and lp copies) have the traditional MOP inlays. I like the fact the inlays on the agile are abalone....it makes em' unique.
I feel like if Kurt changed the name of the honey's to "amber" I'd like them more....don't ask why. lol.
I definitely dig the weight and the finish of the tobacco, but the flames on the honey are pretty sweet. I still vote...both. Keep one in a closet and
keep it a secret....only bring it out when the wifey's out. .

If youre planning on switching the neck pickup anyway, then the honeyburst. other than that it sounds like the tobacco is a better player for you.

Both LOOK great
but,, ultimately,, you have to chose which is the best for you - which plays the best?
you can fix the mudiness... that's pickup adjustment or maybe replace the pickup... but is that worth cuttin off the foot despite the toe...
I vote keep both - easier to get forgiveness than permission..... jus' sayin'.... |
Dave is right on. Take her out to dinner. Buy flowers.
If you like the honey lower the pickup, get a lesser powered one for it (usually helps) or just try changing the capacitor. I'm thinking if you like
that neck better that's the one you will tend to play.

Man this is tough. Up late playing them both last night. Wife already said "Don't think about keeping both" and to be honest , if I were going to buy two of them I would get one with P90s in it (or maybe get a tele or
something different).
The Tobacco is clearly the better player. Lighter, more resonant, better clarity and response in the pickups. The Honeyburst also has some binding
in the nut (nothing major), and bit more buzzing overall (which is why I ordered the Tobacco as a replacement to begin with) The Honeyburst is the
better looker though - love the MOP inlays and the top on it.
Leaning toward the Tobacco. Will probably make a decsion when I get home tonight and be done with it.

Well since you can't keep both, go for the Tobacco. Much better to have a good player that looks ok than a crappy player that looks good.
